Strictly speaking (according to Wikipedia), it was Arc Music, the company that owned the publishing rights to Howlin' Wolf's songs, that sued Led Zeppelin. The two parties settled out of court, and (again according to Wikipedia) Howlin' Wolf received a cheque for just over $45,000 from Arc Music immediately following the suit and was credited as co–writer on subsequent releases.
